History
The Community Forum Coalition was formed in 2006 in response to the widespread concern about Methamphetamine (Meth) use in Dunn County. Numerous Dunn County agencies, schools and concerned citizens united to host the first Community Forum, focused on educating the public and youth about the dangers of Meth.
In 2007, the Community Forum Coalition continued with its mission, focused on educating the broader community about critical issues, and sponsored a forum focused on dangers to children on the internet.
In 2008, given the results of our evaluations from the two previous years the forum educated parents, adults and youth on the effects that alcohol and drugs has on adolescent brain development.
The 2009 forum addressed several key issues youth face in today’s world by bringing the SOS Players (Skit Outreach Services) from Hudson, Wisconsin to do 8 sketches on the following issues: Pregnancy, Violence, Racism, Stress, Depression, Cyber-bullying, Mean Girls, Peer Rejection.
Testimonials
"I just wanted to thank you for your great performances Tuesday night. I brought my 11 year old son, who was NOT happy about having to be there. Yet, he was engaged the whole time and laughed in spite of himself. We had a good discussion on the way home. Keep up the good work! I wish the whole school could have seen your skits...I may have to work on that. :) " -Sincerely, a parent and nurse.
